ABOUT US

Edmonton Country Club is a private golf facility in Edmonton, Alberta. We pride ourselves on providing top-quality playing conditions and beautifully maintained landscapes that contribute to the golfing experience. We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and enthusiastic horticulturalist to oversee and enhance our ornamental, landscaped, and naturalized areas.

Responsibilities and Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs, installs and maintains ornamental flower beds, shrub beds, perennial gardens, and planters throughout the property.
  • Responsible for all aspects of a 1000 square metre vegetable garden for the clubhouse restaurant.
  • A strong understanding of pruning, practices of all plantings on the property.
  • Implement sustainable horticultural practices, including irrigation, pest management and fertilization.
  • Maintain plant health with an environmentally sensitive approach using IPM strategies.
  • The ability to forecast, budget and procure.
  • The ability to work alone as well as lead, supervise and train colleagues.
  • Accurate record-keeping.
  • Perform other duties deemed to be an integral part of the job.
  • Help develop and follow safe work practices.

Desired Experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary credentials in Landscape/Horticulture or a related field are preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Must know the fundamental principles of landscaping.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • CPR and First Aid are assets but not a requirement.
  • Pesticide Applicators Certification (Landscape or Golf) is an asset, but not required

Compensation and Perks

  • Compensation $22-$28 per hour plus extended health benefits, matching RRSP, golf privileges and pro shop discounts.
