Description of Role

We are looking for students who share a similar passion for growing turf! Myself and my Assistant are both Olds College graduates and we know what is required to complete the Turf Management Degree. We create a welcoming and hands-on environment that can be tailored to any skills you would like to learn towards your career.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • As an intern your responsibilities are going to be more accommodating for what you would like to learn. You will be able to do tasks specifically related to your schooling and online projects. If you are lacking experience in any area, we would like to be able to make a plan to fill that gap.
  • Assisting the managers in what they need accomplished on the golf course
  • Being a Team Lead and setting an example for new employees
  • Running heavy machinery such as tractors, skid steers, etc.
  • Assisting in special projects
  • Assisting with the irrigation system
  • Participating in crew meetings and planning

Desired Experience

  • Attending education in the pursuit of a career in golf course maintenance or a related field
  • Previous experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping
  • Basic understanding of the game of golf
  • Basic understanding of turf maintenance practices
  • Hardworking
  • Reliable work ethic
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and genuine pride in maintaining high-quality playing conditions.

Additional Details

  • Start Date: Beginning of Golf Season (weather dependent)
  • Employment Type: Full-time (seasonal)
  • Schedule: Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday (during golf season)
