River Bend Golf and Recreation Area is a year round facility. Amenities include 18 holes of championship golf, a 9 hole mini links par 3 course, a lazy river water park, Canada winter games cross country ski and biathlon range.

The Assistant Superintendent position is a year round salaried employment under the direct supervision of the Superintendent. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to direct a staff of 15 to 20 in all aspects of golf and parks maintenance. River Bend is looking for someone that understands team first and enjoys outdoor recreation including and especially golf.

Assist in the supervision and instruction of staff a daily basis.
Promote a team spirit through responsible leadership.
Assist in daily irrigation scheduling, supplemental watering and repairs to irrigation system.
Assist in property security.
Be available for snow removal and ski trail grooming including occasionally overnight.
Perform any additional duties as assigned which may be required. 
Adhere to River Bend Golf and Recreation Society policies and procedures.
Make use of golf privileges.

Golf Course maintenance experience.
Graduate of a Turfgrass Management Course or are attending as a student.
A valid Alberta Pesticide Applicators permit or ability to obtain within 90 days.
A valid Class 5 Driver’s license. 
Irrigation and spraying experience considered an asset
Work as a foreman or 2nd assistant considered an asset.
