Description of Role

We are seeking a Technical Product Specialist to join our Professional Turf and Reclamation (PTR) team. The preferred location for this role is in-office at our Calmar, Alberta facility; remote candidates may also be considered. The ideal candidate would bring technical expertise with market insight to drive education, product readiness and strong vendor and operational support. The Technical Product Specialist will also play a key role on the PTR Leadership Team.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Lead Education & Training: Deliver technical training for the sales team and spearhead customer education initiatives with partners.
• Manage Product Programs: Oversee product trials, vendor programs and ensure timely updates on products and compliance requirements.
• Support Marketing & Growth: Lead the development of marketing plans in collaboration with Leadership Teams, manage portfolio optimization and identify new product opportunities through market assessments.
• Oversee Product Compliance: Maintain regulatory compliance for products and packaging.
• Stay Current & Communicate: Keep informed on emerging technologies and maintain strong vendor relationships to support smooth operations.
Desired Experience
• Post Secondary Education in Turfgrass Management and relevant work experience.
• Degree or diploma in business or suitable relevant work experience an asset.
• Five years’ experience in a professional turf or related business environment and includes experience with purchasing, marketing and accounting also an asset.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills.
